U.S. football star Hope Solo is the latest name to sign up for the Beyond Soccer Series – powered by streetfootballworld. The World Cup and Olympic champion will join leading figures from sport, business and philanthropy to discuss the role of technology in helping unleash the positive power of football.

Solo expressed her excitement to participate in the event, which will take place on June 23rd at the SFJAZZ Center in San Francisco.

“I am privileged as a player to have influence that can help drive soccer’s role in changing people’s lives - particularly the integral role soccer can play in raising awareness for the social and human rights issues of our time. I’m committed to using this privilege for good and am excited to be part of Beyond Soccer to help further the issues I am most passionate about off the pitch.”

2016 is arguably the biggest year in the history of football in the Bay Area, with the Copa American Centenario, MLS All Star Game and the International Champions Cup all coming to the region over the summer. Together with the emergence of two new professional football teams in San Francisco, there has never been a bigger buzz around ‘the beautiful game’. The Beyond Soccer Series – powered by streetfootballworld – arrives at the perfect time to highlight the unique potential of football to drive social change and to explore how the Bay Area’s expertise in innovation and technology can take the game to the next level.
