Generation Amazing, a programme coordinated by the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, is aimed at contributing to the lasting legacy of the 2022 FIFA World Cup™ and fulfilling Qatar’s promise to use the hosting of the event as a catalyst to empower people across the region and beyond. Since 2018, streetfootballworld has been the international delivery partner of the programme.

During the countdown to the 2022 tournament, Generation Amazing embarked upon a journey to touch the lives of people living in some of the world’s most disadvantaged regions and tackle prevalent social issues. Teaming up with NGOs and football for good organisations, the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy in Qatar launched Generation Amazing to support ongoing social development programmes, strengthen football infrastructure, stage football festivals and engage youth ambassadors. In 2018, streetfootballworld was appointed as the Delivery Partner on this journey.

Since the programme was set in motion in 2010, more than 500,000 people in several countries have been reached through Generation Amazing interventions. 32 communities in target countries and over 215,000 children and young people have been reached since streetfootballworld's partnership began in 2018. Beyond Qatar, Generation Amazing’s international programme delivery by streetfootballworld was carried out with local implementing partners in India, Jordan, Lebanon, Nepal, Pakistan, and the Philippines. Generation Amazing Qatar also expanded to provide support in countries like Haiti, Oman, and Rwanda.

One of the main goals of the partnership is the construction of football pitches in communities identified as the most vulnerable to provide access to sport and a platform for the delivery of football for development (FFD) initiatives promoting skills such as teamwork, leadership and communication. In addition to FFD programmes and the infrastructure project, a youth leadership programme has engaged more than 70 young leaders across the target countries. The programme is designed to enable young people to take on leadership roles within their local football for good organisations and wider communities.

As of 2020, Generation Amazing, through the support and collaboration of civil society, sport leaders, local government, and other institutions, is rolling out Generation Amazing Community Clubs (GACCs). The key attributes to these GACCs in the various communities include being a safe space for all regardless of gender, age, race, ability or religion. The GACC will be football for development hub that is simultaneously a place of learning and social enterprise. It will be a place of active participation for youth at all levels - from management decisions, to getting involved in activities so that youth can be part of the sustainable cohesive plan to ensure this facility remains a core community resource that strives towards core development objectives linked to social cohesion.
